“I warned them” Saboti MP says he told Raila presidential elections would be rigged

by Enock Ndayala

On Wednesday, January 18, Jubilee secretary-general Jeremiah Kioni claimed that the 2022 presidential elections were rigged.

The former Ndaragua MP sensationally claimed that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party Presidential candidate Raila Odinga won with 8,170,355 votes (57.53%) against William Ruto’s William Ruto got 5,915,973 votes (41.66%).

Addressing journalists at the Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka (SKM) Command Centre in Nairobi on Thursday, January 19, Azimio principals said they will issue the next step once the former Prime Minister who is in South Africa jets back into the country.

But in a statement on Friday, January 20, Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi told the Azimio la Umoja Coalition to chat its way out ahead of 2027.

The ODM MP said that the 2022 presidential election was done and dusted adding that he knew the elections would be rigged.

The youthful legislator further said that he warned them but those who were close to the opposition leader dismissed him.

He said the rigging was orchestrated by the then deputy president William Ruto who had full control of the government and that the now Rtd. President Uhuru Kenyatta was not aggressive.

“The reason why the 2022 elections were rigged is that number two (William Ruto) had full control of government right from 2017. Number one (Uhuru Kenyatta) is not known to be aggressive. If I were 50cm from baba (Raila Odinga) I would not allow it. Am sharp and smart I knew it, I said but they dismissed me. Case closed until 2027,” Amisi said in a Tweet.

Earlier, Jubilee spokesperson Jeremiah Kioni claimed that research done by a non-profit organization in partnership with pro-democracy leaders across the continent revealed most of the manipulations happened in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region.

“Most of the manipulation happened within the Mt Kenya region,” Kioni told the press.
