Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka says he is eager to face Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 Presidential race.

In an interview on K24 TV o Sunday, Kalonzo admitted that most presidential contestants are afraid of William Ruto.

“The one thing that I will look forward to is being given the opportunity to fight it out with William Ruto. I don’t know why people are afraid of him. There is that kind of a scare thing,” he said.

Kalonzo also recognized the fact that William Ruto is in the presidential race alone without forming a coalition like other politicians in the country.

“He has been running alone up to now but the ground swell against him is looking very interesting,

We will be part of that ground swell, I would love to have that opportunity to face not just William Ruto but whoever else will be in the ballot,” Kalonzo added.

Deputy President William Ruto has proven to be the most dreaded aspirant in the presidential race.

This can be seen from how his competitors are forming coalitions to face him in the 2022 General Election.

In August, President Uhuru Kenyatta had a meeting with Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Gideon Moi.

In the closed-door session, the Head of State is said to have urged the principals to unite so as to beat William Ruto. He warned that failure to unite will give Ruto a chance to become the 5th President.

There have also been calls for Kalonzo Musyoka to work with Raila Odinga so as to defeat William Ruto.

In June, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu called on Kalonzo to support Raila Odinga, or else, William Ruto will defeat them both.

“If Kalonzo(Musyoka) and Raila (Odinga) fail to unite ahead of 2022, then (William) Ruto’s chances of success will be high. How will the Kamba community benefit if they choose to vote for Kalonzo and lose the presidency?
