MP Oscar Sudi speaks after claims he wished Raila’s daughter death

by Enock Ndayala

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has refuted claims that he wished ODM leader Raila’s daughter died.

This is after reports emerged claiming that Sudi, a fierce critic of Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta allegedly said that Rosemary Odinga will just die even if she seeks medical attention from abroad.

“Raila asijisumbue kuenda India, huyo motto wake atakufa tu kama yule mwingine. Ndio awache kucheza na Mungu wetu (Raila should not bother to go to India, her daughter will die just like the other one. Yes let him stop playing with our God),” Sudi allegedly said.

But in a tweet seen by Kivumbi.co.ke on Monday, February 14, the vocal Tanga Tanga legislator termed the reports as fake saying they are meant to destroy his relationship with the former prime minister.

Sudi said he respects Raila so much stating that the ODM leader is just like a father to him.

He said his friendship with the Raila family dates back decades adding that Rosemary and Raila Junior are his brothers and sisters.

“I cannot respond to you because you are nobody. But you need to know that I respect Raila Odinga. He is like a father to me. If you need to confirm our friendship then ask Raila Junior or Winnie Odinga. The late Fidel was like a brother to me. Stop spreading fake news!” he said.

The former Lang’ata MP who last year announced that he will be giving a fifth stab at the presidency in the August 9 General Election accompanied his daughter Rosemary eye treatment at a hospital in India.

Rosemary suffered a minor stroke, leading to her hospitalisation in South Africa in February 2017, forcing her to withdraw from the Kibra parliamentary race.

“The latest private visit is a follow-up check-up. The eye treatment center has been practicing ayurvedic eye care traditionally for nearly 300 years now,” the Indian Express reported.
