“I have been very fair to the party, they do wrong to me I kneel down and say It’s ok Baba (Raila). I’m spending millions, I sold my house worth Ksh25 million to prove that I want to be a woman rep of Migori county and I have proven,” a vivibly emotional Fatuma stated.

The aspiring who has unsuccessfully contested the woman representative seat in the 2013 and 2017 polls, called on the ODM leadership led by the former Prime Minister to exercise impartiality in the entire process.

“2017 I won they took my victory and gave it to current woman rep Pamela Odhiambo. Today I won by landslide. When Baba came to Kuria, he negotiated with the Kuria community and told them Ghati cannot win, she is not a strong candidate, she is not popular. I have tried to reach to ODM party officials and one of them told me that I cannot stop the process,” Fatuma said.

The aspirant warned that if the Raila Odinga-led party will not reverse the results she will have have no option but to vie on an independent ticket.

But as Fatuma protested, the ODM nomination officials announced Denitah Ghati, a nominated member of parliament as the winner with 37,792 votes while Fatuma garnered 23,552 votes to emerge second.
