Paul Ongili or Babu Owino wife, age, education, and wealth

Paul Ongili or Babu Owino is the Embakasi East Member of the National Assembly.

The controversial politician was elected MP in the 2017 General Election on an ODM ticket.

Before being elected, he had risen to prominence as the long-serving chairperson of the Students Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU).

Babu is a staunch supporter of former prime minister Raila Odinga and a fierce critic of Deputy President William Ruto.

Babu Owino was born on October 10, 1989. He is 32 years old and considered one of the youngest Members of Parliament.

Babu Owino started his education at Kisumu Township Primary School in 1995.

After completing his primary studies in 2002, he joined Kisumu Boys Secondary School from 2003 to 2006.

He later joined the University of Nairobi (UoN) in 2008 and bagged a first-class honours degree in Actuarial Science in 2012.

In 2013, he enrolled for a bachelor of law at the same institution.

Babu Owino is married to Fridah Muthoni.

The duo met in 2010 at the University of Nairobi and the MP was smitten.

“It was love at first, I just saw her and knew she was the one. She is beautiful, intelligent and I knew I had to get before other men cast their eyes on her,” Nairobi News quoted Babu.

In a social media post on January 31, 2021, he praised her as a wonderful partner with whom he would love to spend the rest of his life.

“My wife is my best friend if I have 10 minutes in my life I would like to spend it with her,” he posted on Facebook.

Muthoni is a bright lady judging by her performance in school.

While being interviewed by her husband on Babu Owino TV, she revealed she scored 443 out of 500 marks in her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) at Lions Primary School, Embu.

After the excellent results, she joined Loreto High School, Limuru where she attained an impressive mean grade of A-.

She joined the University of Nairobi (UoN) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree.

Muthoni also pursued Certified Public Accounting (CPA) and a business management course at the institution.

After completing her studies, she secured employment at I&M Bank but due to her passion for fashion, she left and ventured into entrepreneurship.

“After employment, I decided to do the things that set my soul on fire. For me, that is fashion. I don’t take it for granted. To be able to have my business and do what I love every single day is truly a blessing,” she said during the interview.

Her brand deals with ladies’ clothing and accessories.

Muthoni said she has stood with Babu through thick and thin despite his controversies because’s he’s a good man who came from a humble background.

“You are a good man. You have a heart of gold and I was able to see that from the first day I met you. I could tell that you are a good man. I always saw your goodness and the fact that I was understanding of your background. How many of us make it out of a slum?”

Babu Owino wealth

Babu Owino is one of the wealthiest young politicians in Kenya.

Reports indicate he owns cars worth millions of shillings. These include Toyota Land Cruiser V8, Hyundai Tuscani, Range Rover Sport, and Toyota Landcruiser ‘150’ Prado series.

Besides venturing into the matatu business, he owns residential homes in Eastlands and Kileleshwa.

As an MP he earns close to KSh 1 million monthly when allowances are factored in.
