A section of Bungoma residents demand KSh 2 Million from Ruto

A section of Bungoma County residents have demanded their share of Ksh 2 million from Ruto which he promised during a rally in the area.

The small-scale vegetable vendors and Boda Boda riders expressed their disappointment with Deputy President William Ruto for failing to fulfill the promise.

Speaking to the press on Monday, November 15, the traders said that they expected the KSh 2 million from Ruto to be a game-changer in their businesses.

They say that Ruto promised to give them the money, but up to date, they do not know if he gave it out, or who was given the handout.

“I want to ask you one thing, Deputy President. Are Bungoma people different from others? Wherever you went, you gave handouts but when it came to us, you did not give anything,

“We knew you were coming to uplift our lives and businesses, but it seems our expectations cannot be met,” one of the boda boda riders stated.

The Chairperson of Boda Boda riders in Bungoma County lamented that Ruto’s empty promise has landed him in trouble as his fellow riders presume he squandered it.

He regretted mobilizing fellow riders to give William Ruto a heroic welcome to the region.

“As the chairperson of riders in Bungoma, I am having a hard time because the others think I have squandered their money, but the reality is that I have not received a single cent Ruto had promised to give,” he said.

On the other hand, the vegetable vendors better known as Mama Mbogas regretted closing their businesses to cheer William Ruto, knowing that they will get a KSh 1 Million boost.

The claims are among a series of complaints that William Ruto does not give out the handouts promised during his massive rallies.

Additionally, the handouts have caused unrest among Ruto’s supporters, with the latest being chaos in the Kondele area where supporters are said to have disagreed on distributing Ruto’s handouts.
