Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has accused Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka of killing the dream he had for the region out of his own insecurities.
Speaking during an interview on Bonga na Jalas, Mutua said that he has transformed Machakos County since taking over leadership, and would have even done better.
“I have served the people of Machakos well, could have been better, but bad politics ruined it,” he said.
According to the Governor, he had plans to sign deals amounting to KSh 2 trillion, but Kalonzo Musyoka ruined it through Johnstone Muthama.
“Kalonzo Musyoka and Wiper Party sent Muthama to court to stop me. An injunction was put that you cannot give free land to investors-myopic African thinking. They said if I builds a city, I will become more powerful,” Mutua said.
While blaming Kalonzo and Muthama for the slow development in Machakos County, Mutua said that the residents should hold them responsible for the current unemployment rates.
“If any young man in Machakos wants work, go and see Kalonzo and Muthama. They should take you to Uganda, your job went there,”
As his second term in office comes to an end in 2022, Alfred Mutua eyes the presidential seat through the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party.
He has declared that he is in the race up to the end, dismissing reports that he is in coalition talks with Raila Odinga.
“I am still running for President. Any coalition talks with Raila Odinga or any other will come later in the race. But make no mistake, I am in the race to the end,” he said.
Alfred Mutua has been seen as a valuable addition to Raila Odinga, representin North Eastern Region if Kalonzo Musyoka does not accept to be a running mate.
