Bishop gets car, fully-furnished office for supporting President Ruto

In the build-up to the 2022 General Election, Catholic Bishop Paul Kariuki strongly endorsed the then Kenya Kwanza presidential flag bearer William Ruto.

Despite the fact that the Catholic Church had burned politicking on pulpits, the man of the cloth was on several occasions quoted drumming up support for the then Tanga tanga team.

At one point, the Embu Catholic Bishop liked William Ruto’s countrywide tours to a very productive ‘bee’ and compared William Ruto’s rivals to ‘houseflies’ that are always bothered by the handwork of a bee (Ruto).

In the build-up to the 2022 General Election, Catholic Bishop Paul Kariuki strongly endorsed the then Kenya Kwanza presidential flag bearer William Ruto.

“They don’t see his good deeds of building the roads, bringing water, and connecting most homes to electricity. The ‘bee’ is overworking. Deputy President endelea kutanga tanga hakuna shida ( continue traversing the country, there is no problem),” stated Kariuki amid cheers from the congregation.

Less than a year after the Supreme Court upheld William Ruto’s victory as the fifth President-elect, the outgoing Embu diocese bishop is poised to reap the fruits of his labor.

This was after Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki announced that the Kenya Kwanza will buy a luxurious vehicle for the bishop.

Kindiki, who spoke on Sunday, July 30, during a fundraising event in the region further said that President William Ruto’s government will build a fully furnished office for the bishop.

“Bishop stood with us when it mattered and we shall also not forsake him,” the CS said.

Kindiki’s announcement comes just days after Kariuki was appointed the first bishop of the newly erected Catholic Diocess of Wote.
