Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has torn into Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s outbursts.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed ODM leader Raila Odinga’s plans to kick President William Ruto out of State House.

The Deputy President on Wednesday, March 29, told the former Prime Minister to leave them alone because he cannot fight them while outside the government.

Gachagua said the Kenya Kwanza government is not as easy as Raila thinks he can topple it and told him to ask Rtd. President Uhuru Kenyatta who they are.

“I want to tell the Azimio leaders to leave us alone. If they want to know who we are, they should ask Uhuru Kenyatta, he knows well. I don’t know how you can fight us when you are out of government,” Gachagua said.

The second in command further downplayed the Azimio protests which are expected to continue on Thursday, March 30.

The DP argued that the cost of living was not the real issue behind the opposition’s protests but a strategy to get to power.

“He (Raila Odinga) has intimidated previous governments through blackmail to get into power,

“All previous governments succumbed to his pressure but this time round, the government will not tolerate his unbecoming behaviour,” Gachagua said.

Raila who is today expected to lead another mass protest in Nairobi said he does not recognize William Ruto as the Head of State adding that Ruto is just a president in an acting capacity.

The veteran politician wants the Kenya Kwanza government to lower the cost of living, and suspend the ongoing process of recruiting Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.

He is further calling on the Head of State to expedite the opening of the IEBC servers to ascertain who won the 2022 presidential election.
