In his previous interviews, Nairobi gubernatorial candidate on UDA ticket Johnson Sakaja often claimed that he graduated with a degree in actuarial science, from the University of Nairobi.
In a Youtube video uploaded by singer Nyashinski, on September 22, 2020, the youthful politician revealed that he has never pursued education out of the country.
However, Sakaja was thrown under the bus when the University of Nairobi revealed that the UDA politician was still their student and that he has never graduated.
Sakaja who is facing a petition questioning the validity of his academic papers has now shifted goal posts, saying he graduated from a Ugandan University.
In an affidavit filed before the IEBC Disputes Resolution Committee on Monday, June 14, Sakaja claims that he graduated from TEAM University with a Bachelor of Science in Management.
“That among other qualifications and awards of excellence, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Management degree conferred upon me by TEAM University in Uganda having satisfied all requirements for the award,” Sakaja said in his replying affidavit.
“That contrary to the false averments by the complainants, TEAM University in Uganda is duly recognized in the Republic of Uganda and by convention Kenya,” He added.
At the same time, he dismissed allegations that his name was missing from the graduation booklet saying those behind the petition deliberately left omitted his name while filing the petition.
“For nefarious goals, the complainants have fraudulently omitted relevant pages of the graduation booklet that bear my graduation credentials,” he stated.
The incumbent Nairobi senator further said that he was not the Sakaja Koskei Johnson cited in the complaints presented before the IEBC Dispute Resolution Committee.
“That the person cited as the 1st Respondent in Complaint No. 230 of 2022, one “SAKAJA KOSKEI JOHNSON” is a stranger to the election for the position of Governor, Nairobi City County, in the General Election scheduled for 9th August 2022.”
He called on the committee to throw away the petition saying his official name was Sakaja Johnson Arthur.
