Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has expressed confidence that he will defeat ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 presidential duel.
He disputed claims that the 2022 presidential race is a two-horse race between the deputy president and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner Raila Odinga.
While political analysts have branded presidential frontrunners William Ruto and Raila Odinga as horses, Kibwana trademarked himself a donkey saying he is the ultimate servant leader just like Jesus Christ rode on a donkey to face his time trial.
“It is said the 2022 General Election is a two-horse Raila-Ruto race with an OKA mule and several donkeys on the track,
“As a presidential aspirant, I accept the tag of a donkey. Jesus Christ, the ultimate servant leader, rode on a donkey to face his epoch trial,” Kibwana said in a Tweet on Sunday, December 5.
The move to brand himself a donkey comes barely weeks after the County chief banned donkeys, mkokoteni operators and tuk tuks from Wote during the four-day devolution conference stating that the image is unsightly and may give the county a bad name.
In August 2021, Governor Kivutha Kibwana officially joined the growing list of 2022 presidential aspirants.
While announcing he will be on the ballot for the top seat, the county boss left Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party and rejoined the Muungano party, a political vehicle he said he will use to vie for the presidency.
“Kivutha Kibwana will be the President of Kenya because he will be on the ballot in the 2022 presidential elections,” the county boss said on Monday, August 30.
Kibwana said he will soon launch his presidential campaign and urged all those who have expressed their ambitions to succeed retiring President Uhuru Kenyatta to openly come out and declare their ambitions.
