Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has revealed that she usually turns off her television set whenever Deputy President William Ruto is talking.
Speaking on Friday, November 12, in Makueni County during the ODM leader Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja (quest for unity) campaign, the county chief said she does not stand with William Ruto’s lies dressed as campaign promises.
“I am shocked when I see this guy (William Ruto). I always switch off. When he appears on Citizen TV, I wonder what is this…I switch off until he is done,” said governor Ngilu.
She faulted the deputy president for frustrating President Uhuru’s projects stating that the laptop project for standard one pupil was stalled by the former Eldoret North MP.
“(William) Ruto promised our children laptops, now he wants to offer them wheelbarrows. Doesn’t he know the difference between a laptop and a wheelbarrow?” governor Ngilu posed.
According to her, the initial cost for the Thwake Dam was KSh 13 billion but the deputy president inflated the cost to KSh 39 billion and has since looted the difference.
Kivumbi.co.ke understands that this is not the first time, the county boss has publicly displayed her hatred towards William Ruto.
In September 2021, Ngilu made a public prayer at a rally asking God to do away with William Ruto so he does not become Kenya’s next president.
Addressing residents of Kisasi Market Kitui rural moments after she had launched the Kitui Livestock carriers, Ngilu made the prayer in her native Kamba language.
Chairty Ngilu asked God to take the deputy president in his special way claiming that the former Agriculture Minister is not a good person and would likely bring troubles to the country.
“Dear God please take (Deputy President William) Ruto from our midst. This is not a good person; he is a person who will bring trouble to our country. Dear God, please take Ruto in your own special ways,” she prayed.
