On Friday, June 17, Raila Odinga‘s 2022 presidential running mate Martha Karua took the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition campaigns to Murang’a County.

Karua who is on a vote hunting mission in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region has often accused the Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto of using his big pockets to influence voters.

The 2022 presidential election front runner William Ruto is known for his generous donations in what many presume that he splashes out his wealth to lure voters.

But speaking in Murang’a, the former Gichugu MP warned voters against voting for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) flag bearer William Ruto.

Karua said as much as money is a good thing, Raila’s 2022 presidential running mate advised the voters not to make wrong choices on the ballot.

“Money is a good thing, take it and vote wisely, but be careful not to be lured to vote for the wrong leaders who have nothing to offer,” Karua said.

While drumming up support for Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential candidate, Karua said that Raila was the best choice if they wanted their interest to be a priority in the next government.

“We are calling on Mt Kenya region and Meru included coming out in large numbers to vote for Azimio because this is the only government that will take care of the interests of the region,” she added.

She further reminded the deputy president that not all who call on Jesus by name will go to heaven.

“Those trying to prove that they are closer to God than others should know that Jesus said not all that call him by name will see heaven,” she said in a reference to William Ruto’s culture of quoting Bible verses.
