Moses Kuria to retire from politics if he loses Kiambu gubernatorial race

Outspoken Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria is vying for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat in the August 9, General Election where he faces stiff competition.

He will be contesting against Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, and incumbent James Nyoro.

The outspoken Mosws Kuria , qho is also the party leader of Chama Cha Kazi (CCK), has been Gatundu MP since 2013.

He however seems to be ready to quit politics, should he not reach his goal of becoming the next Kiambu governor in the 2022 General Election.

Kivumbi.co.ke understands the legislator has said he will neither seek to be nominated nor take part in active politics in the event he is not elected.

“In the very unlikely event, I am not elected (in August), you will not see me in politics again let alone seeking to be nominated. There is life beyond politics,” he said.

It is worth noting that in February 2022, Kuria disclosed that he will not be seeking any elective seat or defend his Gatundu South parliamentary seat on August 9, 2022, General Election only to change and go for the gubernatorial seao

He had said then that he would solely focus on building his CCK party across the country to have a good number of leaders in the next government.

The vocal politician noted he was contented with the years he had served his people adding that he wanted to set an example by breaking the behavior of political leaders who like sticking in power.

“I think I have served the people of Gatundu South for a solid nine years, and I’m proud of the job I have done there. As of now,

“My single focus is to build a strong party that is going to assure a lot of people who are currently not very assured,” he said.
