by Enock Ndayala
Rigathi Gachagua has sensationally claimed that President Uhuru is frustrated because the Mt Kenya region has defied his succession wish.

Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has said that Mt Kenya people have suffered in the period President Uhuru Kenyatta has been in power.

Speaking at DP Ruto’s Karen residence on Thursday, August 26, the outspoken legislator said the GEMA community is not supporting him for president because they want the post of Deputy President.

He said that people from Mt Kenya have faced many hardships despite having one of their own as president for the last 9 years and as such having someone from Mt Kenya at the high table is not a priority now.

“Your excellency (William Ruto), we are not part of a discussion for political seats in Mt Kenya. Because we have had the Presidency. Have we or have we no been hurt even with that seat? Gachagua posed much to the applause of the audience.

He claimed the Head of State has silently watched as small business owners from Mt Kenya are evicted violently from areas like Karatina, Kahawa West among other areas with their establishments brought down without any form of compensation thus pushing them into poverty

“Our people have their belongings burnt and have returned home crying yet the Head of State has not done anything to protect them,” he added.

Gachagua who claimed to have bankrolled President Uhuru Kenyatta’s campaign but has since shifted his allegiance to William Ruto’s political wing said the problems of the people of Mt Kenya would not be solved by them having more positions in government but would be solved by better economic models.

According to him, they are not supporting Ruto because he helped Uhuru win the presidential election neither are they returning the favors to the deputy president but they are supporting him because he is a visionary leader who will solve the majority of the problems Kenyans are going through.

“We support (William Ruto) because he is a visionary leader who will move this country forward,” Gachagua said.
