Kwani ni kesho? Moses Kuria blasts Raila for threatening to jail corrupt politicians

by Amos Khaemba

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria in a speech dubbed ‘Kwani ni Kesho’ has dared the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua to push for the jailing of corrupt individuals in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration instead of waiting until after the election.

Speaking in Kiambu on Monday, May 23, Kuria who had accompanied by Kenya Kwanza alliance presidential flag bearer William Ruto, said it was hypocritical for Raila and Karua to promise to jail thieves when they are surrounded by corrupt leaders.

“Jana nilisikia watu wengine walisema ati agenda yao ya kwanza ni kupeleka watu Kamiti projects zetu zote zimekwama in the name of fighting corruption Rafiki yangu Raila na Karua Nani hajui wezi wa KEMSA, Shika was Leo uwapeleke Kamiti kwani ni Kesho.” Kuria said.

Loosely translated to, “Yesterday I heard other people say that their first agenda will be to send people to jail, all our projects stuck in the name of fighting corruption…My friend Raila and Karua, Who does not know the Kemsa thieves, arrest them today and send them to Kamiti, don’t wait for tomorrow”

The outspoken Legislator remarked that if the Raila Odinga – Martha Karua ticket was built on integrity, then the two would not be dining with people accused of corruption.

“From Eastern Bypass to Ruaka, the road was constructed for Ksh1 billion per kilometer, and those who used this road to misappropriate taxpayers’ money are dining with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“The people who have misappropriated the costs of the Western Bypass and the Lamu – Garissa road are with you. If you ( Odinga and Karua) stand for integrity, get them arrested today,” Kuria said as the crowd cheered.

Speaking in Narok on Sunday, May 22, 2022, presidential front runner Raila Odinga and his running mate, vowed to jail government officials who misappropriate government resources.

“Martha is not a newbie in matters to do with the law, we will make sure that they end up in Manyani, Shimo la Tewa, Kamiti, and Naivasha.

“I have been to those prisons and I can assure you that those kinds of people will have their prison experience. We want to change this country’s direction,” Raila said
