Former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita has revealed a list of goodies the Azimio la Umoja had promised Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

In a statement on Tuesday, May 17, Waita claimed that the Azimio la Umoja had promised the former vice president the position of Chief Minister.

The Wiper boss had also been promised 20 percent of Cabinet and state appointments if the Azimio would form the next government.

Waita who is also seeking the Machakos gubernatorial seat in this year’s General Election further said that the former Prime Minister had promised 500 kilometers of roads for each of the three counties of the Lower Eastern region comprising Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni.

Apart from three New Dams for each of the Ukambani counties, the Azimio la Umoja presidential flag bearer had assured Kalonzo of three-level six hospitals each built-in Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni.

“The position of Chief Minister 20 percent of Cabinet and  Government of Kenya appointments, 1500 KMs of roads, New Damns and Water pipelines, three-level six hospitals is just a small part of what was offered by Raila to Ukambani,” Waita said in a statement.

Kalonzo who was eying the Azimio running mate announced that he had terminated his pre-election agreement with Raila’s Azimio la Umoja after the presidential hopeful named Narc Kenya party leader as his presidential running mate.

Waita, however, accused the former Minister of giving his personal interests ahead at the expense of the region stating that it was wrong for him to walk away just because he did not land the deputy president slot.

“These promises are not Kalonzo’z property to walk away with on our behalf,” he added.

However, sources say the agreement between Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka will be amended soon a move that is likely to see Kalonzo shelve his presidential ambitions and rejoin Azimio la Umoja before the end of the month.
