Bungoma-based Luyha traditional musician has offered a piece of land to Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto.

Daudi Zakari, a member of the Webuye Jua Kali band offered the land for the construction of William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party offices.

“I have a piece of land here in Webuye which I have given to Ruto so that he can construct UDA offices and headquarters,

“When he comes here on Thursday, my prayer is that he will lay the foundation stone for the construction,” Zakari said on Tuesday, November 2.

The mama mzazi hitmaker who is a person living with a disability said having a UDA party office in the Western county will help shore up members in the political outfit ahead of the hotly anticipated 2022 General Election.

Zakari further appealed to Bungoma residents to join the newly-formed political outfit to ensure the deputy president ascends to power come 2022.

“Having an office here will attract people to join the party. I call on Bungoma residents to come out in large numbers to welcome our incoming president when he tours this region on Thursday,” he appealed.

Prior to the 2017 election, the deputy president bought the musician a car to help him move around with ease given his physical condition.

However, the Webuye Jua Kali band member said he does not donate land to return favour but because he is a life member of William Ruto’s party and that the presidential hopeful is his personal friend.

“I didn’t donate land because he bought me a car, no. I am a member of the UDA party and Ruto is also my friend, it is only wise that I support his presidential bid,” he told Tuko.co.ke.

In an interview with Citizen TV in April, the former Agriculture Minister said he will use UDA to contest for the presidency in the event the Jubilee party will deny him a chance to fly the party’s flag.
