ODM chairman speaks after claims Raila Odinga is a government project

by Nderi Caren

ODM Chairman John Mbadi has responded to claims by William Ruto that Raila Odinga is a government project for the 2022 presidential election.

Speaking on Sunday, October 24, Mbadi said that William Ruto is making the accusations against Raila Odinga to mislead his supporters.

He instead told William Ruto to focus on his campaigns and stop looking for votes by attacking Raila Odinga.

ODM Chairman John Mbadi has responded to claims by William Ruto that Raila Odinga is a government project.

“He thinks he can mislead Kenyans with cheap propaganda. All Kenyans know that Raila Odinga can not be a project of anyone,” he said.

The ODM Chairman argued that if Raila Odinga was willing to be a government project, he would have sat back and enjoyed his privileges as a son of the former Vice President.

“Raila Odinga started politics at the age of 14, he has suffered for this nation. If he wanted comfort, he would have been in some comfort somewhere. He would have been a spoilt child of a former vice president,” he added.

Instead, Mbadi argued that William Ruto himself is a project of certain influential people in Kenya.

“It is Ruto who is the project of cartels. If you see anyone supporting him, they are people who are cartels, who want to make money in Ruto’s government,” he said.

In his tour of Western Kenya, William Ruto said Raila Odinga and the One Kenya Alliance Principals are looking forward to endorsements from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto said that Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Musalia Mudavadi are afraid of facing him alone, and have to come up with a coalition to defeat him in the 2022 polls.

“All these men… there is no one ready to face me eye to eye. They are now planning to unite, the only way they can have a contest with me is if they unite,” William Ruto said.
