ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has denied claims that the One Kenya Alliance is a State House project in the 2022 elections.

Speaking during an interview on Egesa FM, Mudavadi said One Kenya Alliance is an independent coalition and those linking it to State House have only sensed defeat in the upcoming polls.

He said that the people who are making the allegations are even closer to the president than the members of his alliance.

“If you take a closer look, you will realise that those who are calling us a project are the people who are currently working very closely with the government. They are far much closer to the government than us,” Mudavadi said.

According to him the upcoming elections is a fair contest and they will present their manifesto and leave the electorates to decide.

“We should tell Kenyans what we intend to change in their lives if they elect us and then leave it up to them to decide who the next President will be,” he said.

Mudavadi has been focused on receiving new recruits into his camp and the One Kenya alliance at large.

The alliance has not settled on whom will be their flagbearer come next year as each candidate seems to be making plans on his own.

“Our doors are open to all Kenyans who share our dreams. If your vision is to fight corruption and grow the economy among other things, you are welcome to join us.”

On the other hand, Gideon has been open to discussions with other politicians, including their possible opponents.

On April 13, Gideon met ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru’s brother, Muhoho Kenyatta.

The meeting that was held in Raila’s Karen home raised speculations among many Kenyans.

A statement by Gideon indicated that their visit was not a political one, but an effort to check on Raila’s health progress after recovering from COVID-19.

“I am deeply impressed by Raila Odinga’s quick and steady recovery; a clear indication of his resilience even in the face of adversity. We wish him good health, long life, and boundless joy as one of our country’s foremost patriots,” said Gideon Moi.
