Deputy President William Ruto has hinted at working with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford-Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula as the race for the country’s top job in 2022 hots up.

Addressing a rally in Kakamega County on Wednesday, December 15, William Ruto said he cannot let other politicians plan for him, and as such Musalia and Wetangula should not let that happen to them.

he was speaking in reference to the Mt Kenya foundation’s exercise of interviewing presidential hopefuls to determine which one of them was suitable to take over from retiring president Uhuru Kenyatta.

The foundation- comprising of rich businessmen from mt Kenya region interviewed Raila Odinga, Gideon Moi, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, and Kalonzo Musyoka but skipped William Ruto.

While addressing the charged crowd, Ruto took a swipe at Mt Kenya Foundation for interviewing Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula for the presidential position and later settling on Raila Odinga

“They took Musalia there to conduct an interview on him, then they did not even call him to give him the results,” Ruto said.

He went ahead to ask his supporters if they would like him to work with Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula for 2022 to which they answered ‘yes’ in unison.

“I am asking you, do you want Musalia to work with Kitendawili man (Raila Odinga) or me? Should he work with a hustler? Let me see those who are saying he should work with a hustler.

“Do you want Wetangula to work with Kitendawili or me? Let me see those who want him to work with the hustler,” William Ruto said as the crowd chanted an affirmation that he should court the two Luhya principals.

This hint comes amid strong claims that Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula have been meeting William Ruto, and they could be planning to work together.

On November 30, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa revealed that the three OKA principals have been consulting with Ruto at night on the possibility of joining hands to beat ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“We are having conversations with Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, and other Kenyans and there is nothing wrong with that,” Didmus Barasa said.

The hint by William Ruto could just be proof that the two OKA principals are on their way to UDA camp.
