Deputy President William Ruto has blasted Kitui Charity Ngilu for wasting time on social media abusing him. instead of serving the people who elected her.

Speaking in Kitui County on Tuesday 29 during the Kenya Kwanza campaign trail DP Ruto wondered when does the governor Ngilu serve the people of Kitui if all time she is insulting him on Twitter.

“Hata sijui anafanyanga kazi ya Kitui zangapi, ako twitter 24/7, akitukana Ruto, Sijui anafanyia kazi zangapi? I don’t know what time she attends to the people of Kitui, she is on Twitter 24/7. What time does she serve you?” DP Ruto said.

The presidential hopeful sarcastically said that he will designate a person who he mentioned Moses so that he should be engaging the governor on Twitter.

“Sasa bwana mose, na mimi sijawahi kumjibu, sasa mama Ngilu, aja kuandika mambo ya Ruto Twitter, nitakupatia account ya Mose mtakuwa mkijibisana” (Moses you know I have never replied to her; So Mama Ngilu stop writing issues of Ruto on Twitter, I will give an account of Moses so that you engage at each other). DP Ruto added.

On Kenya Kwanza pledges, the second in command has promised to convert student loans into a grant if he defeats his main rival Raila Odinga in this year’s presidential election.

“There will be no interest on the HELB loans. We will also make sure that HELB money becomes a grant and not a loan. Secondly, the amount of money students get is too small. It is supposed to be added so that comrades can sort their expenses,” William Ruto said.

Governor Ngilu who is a close ally of the ODM leader Raila Odinga has had a fair share of misunderstanding with DP Ruto.

Most recently the governor took to Twitter to hit out at DP Ruto for always claiming that without him, President Uhuru Kenyatta would have not won the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections.

At one point Ngilu even claimed that whenever she sees DP Ruto on television, she usually turn-off the TV.

I bet he couldn’t do this in Raila Odinga’s home turf.
This proves that the Kenyan politics is coming of age and I’m here to see it.
