Pamoja Alliance youth leader demolish venue for William Ruto’s rally

by Amos Khaemba

The venue meant to host the Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade for a rally in Kilifi has been demolished ahead of the meeting.

The Pamoja Africa Alliance (PAA) party youth leader Samir Nyundo on Thursday, February 3 oversaw the dismantling of the venue claiming it was mounted on his family land.

In a video circulating on social media, Nyundo said the youths had volunteered to dismantle the dais as it was erected without permission from the family.

“I want to send the message to the deputy president, he can hold meetings all over the country, but he should not interfere with family issues even if we differ politically,

“This is our family land and he has no permission to hold a political rally in our family land,” Nyundo said.

According to The Star Newspaper, Kilifi North MP Owen Baya blamed Governor Amason Kingi for intimidating other political leaders planning to hold political rallies in the county.

Governor Kingi, who is the founder of the Pamoja Africa Alliance party, has always been at loggerheads with Deputy President William Ruto.

Governor Kingi’s party is also among the more than 13 political parties that are supporting the Azimio la Umoja led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The Star Newspaper further reported that all parties involved have been summoned to the Deputy County Commissioner’s office to settle the matter.

The second in command has been making political inroads at the coast with the intention of dismantling Raila Odinga’s influence in the region.

Deputy President William Ruto was meant to grace the rally after missing Kenya Kwanza rallies for the last four days where he has been in Dubai for undisclosed business.

ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula were also expected at the event.
