Residents of Tenwek, Bomet county have threatened to decamp to Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition if the ongoing UDA nomination exercise is not free and fair.

The residents pointed out that they were ready to invite the ODM leader Raila Odinga to tour the county if the nomination exercise continues chaotically.

“Deputy President William Ruto, ukijaribu raundi kutupanga na kutulasimisha na hii process, tutambia Raila karibu Bomet, tuataenda Azimio,” One of the residents said.

Loosely translated to, “Deputy President William Ruto this time round do not play with us, do not force us with this process because if you do, we shall invite Raila Odinga to tour Bomet, and we shall join Azimio”

“Either you accept and postpone the exercise or we decamp to Azimio became these are our votes.” He added.

The sentiments by the Bomet residents come after a number of aspirants called on the called DP Ruto’s party to postpone the ongoing UDA nomination process saying the exercise has been marred by fraud.

Addressing journalists on Thursday, April 14, just minutes before the official kicking off of the nomination exercise, Sosioni who has been accused of being an ODM mole in UDA said that the ballot papers arrived at some polling stations when they had already been marked.

“The ballot papers have been marked in favor of a particular candidate and there is a defined line-up and team within this arrangement. It is better to suspend the nominations for a few hours or a day to ensure the process is credible,” Sosioni said.
