Deputy President William Ruto’s ally Aaron Cheruiyot has defended the ongoing United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominations saying it has been organized well as compared to other parties.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, April 14, Cheruiyot blasted those who have been criticizing the ongoing exercise saying calling them ‘3rd grade’ political parties.

The Kericho senator wondered why supporters of political parties that are issuing direct tickets are in terming the UDA nomination as chaotic.

“I see supporters of some 3rd-grade political parties throwing shade at U.D.A. My friends, when you hold nominations in 35 counties then come, we discuss as contemporaries.

“In the meantime, look for your peers dishing out certificates from run-down bungalows.” Cheruiyot tweeted.

Sentiments by Cheruiyot come after the support of the Azimio la Umoja took to social media to castigate the ongoing UDA nomination some terming it shambolic.

Abraham Mutai a renowned blogger of the Azimio wing said, “ Kilio tupu! Machosi! Bomet is nothing but chaos, shambolic, chaotic….by the end of today they will know that they will be fixed by force from Nairobi”

A section of Bomet aspirants called for the polls to be called off after claims that ballot papers were remarked.

Already the Nation Election Board (NEB) of UDA has also come out to defend the ongoing exercise against accusation rigging.

In a statement posted on its official Twitter handle, Deputy President William Ruto’s party said all the ballot papers being used in the nomination exercise have special security features and hence cannot be illegally marked.

The party further said that the UDA ballot papers have unique serial numbers assigned to specific polling stations and hence cannot be scanned or photocopied.

“Ballot papers have security features, they can’t be scanned or photocopied! All ballot papers are uniquely serialized as per the assigned polling center!” the party said in a Tweet.
