However, residents from Musalia Mudavadi’s turf have dismissed President William Ruto’d development tour to their county.

Speaking to Citizen TV on Tuesday, August 29, a middle-aged man from Luanda village, Vihiga County called out the First in command for coming to launch projects he launched while still serving as Deputy President under the Jubilee regime.

“You are coming to re-launch roads that you launched when you were the deputy president,” they said.

The soft-spoken man further said as Vihiga residents, they don’t have something meaningful they will benefit from Ruto’s visit stating that the president is only preoccupied by the 2027 re-election bid.

“Hakuna faida yoyote rais William Ruto ametuletea kama watu wa Vihiga Tumeona ile mpangilio wake wa kesho Vihiga na nyingi ya zile projects anakuja kuzindua ni za kaunti ilhali katiba imebainisha projects za serikali ya kauni na zile za serikali ya kitaifa,” the man said.

Loosely translated to: “There’s no benefit that William Ruto has brought to us, the people of Vihiga. The roads he’s coming to walk on and launch, like the one from Sosa to Shamakhokho, he himself inaugurated when he was Deputy President. On the other road, Mululu, it was Musalia who requested Uhuru Kenyatta, and he laid the foundation and then came to inaugurate it,” he said.
