Kenya kwanza presidential flag William Ruto has apologized to President Uhuru Kenyatta for his chilling relationship with his boss ahead of his imminent retirement.

Speaking during the 19th National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 26, at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Ruto admitted that he had fallen short of President Uhuru’s expectations.

“To my boss, the president I wish you well as you retire. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to serve. Serving as DP I may have fallen short of my boss’ expectations,” William Ruto said.

The 2022 presidential front runner further asked all those who he had wronged in line of his duty as the deputy president for forgiveness saying he wants to go into this year’s elections free of hurt.

“To the people of Kenya, I ask for your forgiveness. We have not been as united as we should have been. We have failed in some areas. I forgive anyone who has wronged me. I want to go to this election free of hurt,” Ruto added.

During the first five years of the Jubilee government, President Uhuru and the former agriculture minister enjoyed a bromance working relationship.

However, their relationship became frosty in 2018 after the Head of State shook hands with his then long-term political nemesis, Raila Odinga, through the famous Handshake.

Ruto, during the National Prayer Breakfast in 2021 extended an olive branch to his boss who technically declined.

But Ruto’s prayers were today answered after the first in command said he would wish to proceed to retirement peacefully according to DP William Ruto’s prayer- when his term ends in August.

“I do hope the prayers of Ruto come true. I am looking forward to a lot of peace and enjoyment in the years to come,” Uhuru said.
