Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has for the first time spoken about what caused him to have only two children.
Speaking during an interview with Inoro FM on Friday, October 6, the second in command said he regrets having only two children.
He said was a ‘fool’ to be convinced by the whites who warned him against having many children.
“I regret siring only two children. I was stupid. I was misled by the white man to limit my lineage,” DP Gachagua said.
As such, the deputy president appealed to his Mt Kenya region especially new couples to have as many children as they can.
“I urge our Mt Kenya families to sire at least seven per couple. God will provide for you,” he added.
At a time when the cost of living has gone beyond rooftops, the DP urged the Mt Kenya region to emulate him and work as hard as a hyena.
“I beg all of us in this government to work hard. Up our game and not shame ourselves as a community. I lead by example. I work like a hyena. Let Mt Kenya people in public service work like hyenas,” Gachagua stated.
Gachagua got married to now the second lady Pastor Dorcas Gachagua in 1989 and the two were blessed with two sons Kevin and Keith.
The firstborn son, Kelvin Gachagua is a software engineer.
The second-born son is called Keith Keino, who was among the top students in the 2010 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
He is a medical doctor but helps the politician run his family business.
Gachagua’s two sons have maintained a low profile and kept their presence on social media private.
