Moses Kuria warns against having Aden Duale close to State House

by Nderi Caren

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has warned that his Garissa Township counterpart Aden Duale can be a dangerous man if he comes close to State House.

According to Moses Kuria, Aden Duale has also done nothing to increase the popularity of the United Democratic Alliance in North-Eastern region.

Instead, he accused Duale of delivering elective seats to Jubilee Party even though he claims to support William Ruto.

“(Aden) Duale is the Patron of the Pastoralists MPs Forum. That is OK. The problem is only when it comes to Mt Kenya region (when the region wants to come together).

“We have had 2 by-elections in Wajir and Garissa. In both cases, Duale led his community to donate the two seats to the Jubilee party unopposed,” Moses Kuria said.

The Gatundu MP fired at Duale for criticising Mt Kenya politicians who are championing the formation of regional parties.

“I see nothing but crying and gnashing of teeth should the likes of Duale come to 200 Kilometres radius of State House in 2022,” he said in reference to William Ruto becoming president and Aden Duale forming his kitchen cabinet.

Moses Kuria was responding to an interview by Aden Duale, who accused him and former Agriculture CS of looking for positions in Deputy President William Ruto’s party.

“Kuria, Kiunjuri, and others are just jostling for power. They want to hide behind their community and region,

“It is an insult to people when their leaders stand on podiums and say that they want to be told the deputy president will come from “us”, and that we must get “various ministers and other positions yet they come from a region that has produced three of the four presidents of the Republic of Kenya since independence,” Aden Duale said.

He said that Moses Kuria is treading on dangerous grounds by insisting on the formation of small parties in Mt Kenya region.

This, he said, will divide the whole country.
