Raila who landed at Kabiruini grounds in Nyeri County to begin his two-day tour of the vast county took to his social media handles welcoming his wife’s new name.

“My Nyawira Amolo Odinga,” Raila said in a Tweet seen by Kivumbi.co.ke.

Speaking when he met more than 600 elders drawn from the Kikuyu and Luo factions, Raila said the move by Mt Kenya region to baptize his wife with a Kikuyu name shows the level of friendship the two communities have.

“The friendship between our two communities (Luo and Kikuyu) will last forever. I am sure wherever Jaramogi and Kenyatta are they are very happy,” he said.

Raila who is believed to be President Uhuru Kenyatta’s secret choice for 2022 further said he has forgiven Lucy Weru, a Nyeri-based hotelier who once kicked him out of his restaurant prior to the 2017 General Election.

The 2022 presidential hopeful said he would head straight to her hotel to have a cup of tea with her.

“There was a time I was kicked out of a hotel in Karatina but I forgave that lady. Now we have agreed that I will have a cup of tea at her home,” he added.
