Deputy President William Ruto was angered by hecklers disrupting his rally in Laikipia County on Tuesday, December 7.

“Plan your own meeting, stop this stupidity…I will not accept it. You have come to heckle us here? Listen to me, if you do not want orderliness…please don’t come to heckle in my meeting. Everyone should organize his own meeting… this is mine,” William Ruto said amid commotion from the crowd.

It is not the first time hecklers have disrupted William Ruto’s rally in the Mt Kenya region.

On November 15,  a section of youths in Nyeri County disrupted William Ruto’s rally, saying that wheelbarrows that he has been giving out are a scam.

The rowdy crowd that was composed of Raila Odinga’s supporters sang Jubilee and ODM parties.

Efforts by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen to calm the angry crowd were unsuccessful, forcing Ruto’s convoy to leave abruptly.

Before this incident, Wiliam Ruto had also encountered a chaotic crowd at the Kondele area, where his motorcade was pelted with stones.

This prompted the UDA leader to leave Kisumu County, and make his next stopover at the neighbouring Migori County.

Then, William Ruto accused his political opponent Raila Odinga of sponsoring the violence by dishing handouts to the youths.

He told Raila that the youths deserve jobs and a good atmosphere to work instead of being hired to cause violence.

“I am asking my friend, the leader of ODM, please, let us not use our children to throw stones and cause violence,” Ruto said.
