Kenyatta’s family staff joins William Ruto’s party ahead of August elections

William Ruto on Friday, January 21, officially welcomed Njogu Wa Njoroge who will be vying for the Njoro parliamentary seat on a UDA party ticket.

While welcoming the media personality to UDA, Deputy President William Ruto said it is fulfilling to see more members of the fourth estate take their rightful positions to be part of the bottom-up economy.

“Competitive political participation is key to our democracy. It is fulfilling to see more people including our friends in the media like Njogu Njoroge take their rightful position to be part of the conversation,” William Ruto wrote on his official Twitter handle.

Njoroge is a Kameme FM radio presenter under Mediamax Limited, a media house associated with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family.

He hosts a night show dubbed Thingira, which is centered around politics and involves the audience actively, as they are allowed to voice their opinions which form the basis of discussion.

Speaking moments after joining the Tanga Tanga political wing, Njoroge asked his supporters tp pray for him as he transits to the next phase.

“There is time for everything, as the good book of the Lord says, and as I transition to the next phase of my life, I ask for your prayers and support,” Njoroge wrote on his official Facebook page after joining Ruto’s camp.

Njoroge joins a long list of media personalities who have expressed their desire to vie for various political seats in the upcoming General Election.

Kiss FM presenter, Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, has openly expressed interest in vying for the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat while Milele FM Radio presenter, Alex Mwakideu also revealed plans to vie for a parliamentary seat in Taita Taveta County.

Others include Former K24 News anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga, former Citizen News anchor Jackie Maribe, and Tonny Kwalanda among others.
