Kirinyaga Woman Rep blames political enemies after being raided by auctioneers

by Nderi Caren

Kirinyaga Woman Rep Wangui Ngirici has blamed her political enemies for the raid by auctioneers at her Karen home.

The auctioneers pounced at the Kirinyaga Woman Rep palatial Nairobi home on Monday, August 9 at her and carried goods worth millions.

The auctioneers were on a mission to recover money Ngirici owes an airline leasing company for services rendered during the 2017 General Election.

According to the Kirinyaga Woman Rep, she does not own the company any money, which is said to have accrued from her 2017 campaigns.

“As far as I am concerned, I don’t owe them any money which they are claiming to have accrued since 2017. They claim the debt is for parking, fueling and servicing of a helicopter that I used in my 2017 campaigns,

“The whole thing is political; these were my enemies at play. The statement I made over the weekend has really touched them,” she said.

The money is said to be a result of her using choppers during campaigns while vying for the Kirinyaga Woman Rep seat.

In the raid, the auctioneers went away with valuable goods from Ngirici’s posh home, including a KSh2 million television set.

Like Ngirici, most legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto have been attributing most of their tribulations to their association with the former Eldoret North MP.

The latest subject of these claims is Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua who was recently arrested over corruption allegations.

He accused the state of going after him in a the KSh 12 Billion graft scandal because of his ties with Ruto.

Rigathi Gachagua was arrested on July 27, and detained for a weekend before being later released on a KSh 12 Million cash bail.
