The Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has given the clearest hint of working with the ODM leader Raila Odinga in the coming August 9, General Election.

Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has defended his move to support Raila Odinga, saying the ODM leader stand’s chance to lead Kenya to a better future.

Speaking at Jacaranda Saturday, March 12, during the politically charged Azimio rally, the Wiper leader expressed confidence that the former prime minister was capable of leading the country after the end of President Uhuru’s term.

“I thought Raila will endorse me for the presidency this time around but out of a good heart, I will support him. Raila Tosha,” he said.

The former vice president noted that his move to support Raila’s bid for the third time was enhanced by Raila’s pledge to fight corruption in the country.

“I stand here to ask all my Wiper and One Kenya Alliance (OKA) supporters to fully support my brother Raila Odinga. Let us not give the country to the corrupt. Raila is the ideal candidate for that job,” said Kalonzo.

He additionally narrated his journey with Raila, saying it was only fair to support the ODM leader to finish the journey.

“Me and my brother Raila we have come from far, we have been tear-gassed during the time of LDP, ODM-Kenya, NARC, CORD, and NASA.  But today it is historic because it is the day we resolve to take the foundational change that will take the country ahead,” he said.

Speaking earlier during the Azimio NDC at KICC, President Uhuru also advocated for Raila’s presidency saying the ODM leader was capable of uniting the country and fighting corruption.

“We are here to announce our team captain. We have no doubt we have a team leader. We have a team leader in the name Raila Odinga,” Uhuru said.

The head of state further paid thanks to the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who was present for his decision to support the former prime minister for the third time saying it is a sign of patriotism.

“Ndungu yangu Kalonzo Musyoka ana uwezo wa kuwa rais, lakini ameweka tamaa yake nyuma ili kuunganisha Kenya,” ( My brother Kalonzo Musyoka has the capability to be the president, but he has but aside his personal ambition for the sake of uniting Kenya) President Uhuru said.
