ODM presidential ticket contender Jimmy Wanjigi has heaped praise on his wife Irene Nzisa for standing with him after the 2017 General Election.

Speaking in Ukambani on Sunday, November 28, Wanjigi said he is the man he is today because of the support he has gotten from Nzisa.

The ODM presidential contender recalled how his wife protected him from being arrested after the mock swearing-in of Raila Odinga after the 2017 elections.

ODM presidential ticket contender Jimmy Wanjigi has heaped praises on his wife Irene Nzisa for standing with him after the 2017 General Elections.

Wanjigi said that Nzisa was calm and smart for three days when the police had taken over their house waiting to arrest him.

“Do you see this beautiful lady here (Nzisa), when police raided my house, she took charge and protected me. She hid me downstairs and calmly handled the police, for the three days the police were there, they never found me,” Wanjigi recalled.

He went ahead to praise the Kamba beauty saying that the community produces women who become good wives.

“This is my wife, do you see how beautiful she is, I want you to see her well, even you guys from the media, she hails from here (Tala),” he said.

Other than being an appreciation moment for Nzisa, the move was smartly coined towards winning the Ukambani vote in the 2022 General Election.

Wanjigi was crisscrossing the region in a bid to porpularise his presidential ambitions, as he awaits battling Raila Odinga in the ODM nominations.

As Wanjigi plans to battle Raila Odinga, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has warned him against fixing him(Kalonzo) to support Raila Odinga.

“You have managed to fix me twice, you fixed me in 2013 when you brought Uhuru and Ruto and again forced me to support Raila. Congratulations Jimi, now it’s you. On a lighter note I want you to know that Jimi is a wonderful person to work with, once he is committed to a course you can’t change him,” Kalonzo said.
