Embu governor tell state officers to prepare for President Ruto’s energy

by Enock Ndayala

Embu governor Cecily Mbarire has warned state officers to prepare and embrace President William Ruto’s style of leadership.

Speaking on Tuesday, August 29, the county boss said unlike his predecessors Uhuru Kenyatta and late President Mwai Kibaki, Ruto is not one to sit at State House waiting to be updated.

She said President Ruto’s style of leadership entails going to the ground and finding out for himself.

“Looks like people don’t know who President Ruto is. He is not one to sit at State House awaiting reports from CSs and PSs,

“He will go to the ground and find out for himself how the implementation of the plan is unfolding. Get used to his energy and style of leadership,” she said.

Her comments come just days after the Head of State claimed that some of the CSs and PSs are clueless about what is happening in their respective departments and ministries.

“I call many PSs and ask them what is going on here and they have no clue and this is your department that is the job that you have; you are not a messenger, you are not a security person, you are not photographer, you are not a watchman,” Ruto said.

“You are the PS or the minister and you don’t have information, how do you run a ministry, a department, or a parastatal if you have no information? That is the highest level of incompetence,” he added.

Ruto said it is the PSs and the CSs who are supposed to advise him, yet he seemed to understand more about what is happening in their dockets than them.
