Ruto’s allies plead with Mudavadi to form 2022 winning team with the DP

Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have asked Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi to join the hustler movement to be guaranteed the presidency alongside William Ruto.

Led by Nandi Governor Stephen Sang on Tuesday, August 31, they said the Luyhia and the Nandi communities have a political history and it was high time they rekindled their unity in 2022 by Mudavadi working together with Ruto.

“We were where Mudavadi is right now when we supported Raila, it’s time he (Mudavadi) takes his own route and thinks of making new friends including (Deputy President William) Ruto,” the governor said.

Sang further advised Mudavadi to shun the ongoing series of State House meetings saying they are meant to make Raila the flag bearer urging the ANC leader to join Ruto and hunt votes from Kenyans.

“Stop the State House meetings in Mombasa and Nairobi, come to the ground, and look for votes like Ruto is doing. You should not be fooled since we already know the President will eventually support Raila,” Sang said.

Speaking during the funeral service of Ezina Kaluhi wife of Kibwareng Ward MCA Jackson Swadi at Mukhulu grounds in Vihiga County, the One Kenya Alliance principal dismissed calls by William Ruto’s allies to form a western alliance to water down ODM leader Raila Odinga’s influence in the region.

While rejecting the call to team with the former Agriculture Minister ahead of the 2022 elections, Mudavadi said his alliance with Ruto will not be a national alliance but a regional one.

He further laughed off claims by Ruto’s allies that the recent State House meetings were meant to coerce him to support the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

“Let us not talk about Western Alliance. We should talk about a national alliance because this is about Kenya and we have to reach out to everybody,” Mudavadi said.
